Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs in the Instant Pot

Perfect hard boiled eggs, even farm-fresh.

  • eggs
  • 1 cup water


  • Pour 1 cup of water in the bottom of the Instant Pot.
  • Place a steamer basket in the Instant Pot and fill it with your uncooked eggs. (I usually do about 8 at a time, but if you have another rack, you could do more.)
  • Close the lid and make sure the valve set to sealing. Set the pressure cooker for 5 minutes on high heat. If will take about 5 minutes to come up to pressure. (If you would like to soft-boil your eggs, set on manual for 3 minutes.)
  • Once the cooking time is up, let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes. (Unless you want to soft-boil. If this is the case, do a quick release right away.)
  • Release any leftover pressure manually.
  • Place your eggs into an ice bath (or at least cold water) so that they stop cooking.
  • Refrigerate and enjoy later, or peel and enjoy your perfect hard boiled eggs now!!
